Julia Raphaely, CEO of Associated Media Publishing in South Africa appointed as a Board Member of FIPP

The FIPP Management Board appointed Julia Raphaely, CEO of Associated Media Publishing in South Africa, as a Board Member at its last meeting on 12 December 2017.

FIPP – the network for global media, represents content-rich companies and individuals involved in the creation, publishing or sharing of quality information to audiences of interest. FIPP exists to help its members develop better strategies and build better businesses by identifying and communicating emerging trends, sharing knowledge, and improving skills worldwide. FIPP represents more than 5,000 titles, which include almost all the world’s leading magazine media brands.

Associated Media Publishing, a multimedia company that currently reaches an estimated 1.2 million readers each month through its print titles and more than 8 million users through its online properties. With five prominent titles in its stable, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Good Housekeeping, Goeie Huishouding, House and Leisure and Women on Wheels, it speaks to a wide variety of women in Southern Africa.

As CEO of the company, Raphaely is responsible for driving change and reinvention across the group, known as one of the largest independent multimedia publisher of glossy women’s magazines and décor titles in the Southern region of Africa. A disrupter, innovator and forward-thinker, Raphaely has led AMP’s growth not only in print but also as a multi-platform media house.

FIPP board members are elected by the FIPP membership to represent their member companies as a part of the policy-making and governance structure of FIPP. The management board is currently made up of 38 company representatives from 20 countries and is headed up by FIPP chairman Ralph Büchi, chief operating officer of the Ringier Group & CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland AG, who was appointed at the FIPP World Congress in October 2017 and Erwin Fidelis Reisch, president and CEO of Alfons W. Gentner Verlag GmbH & Co, now FIPP treasurer.
