House and Leisure announces a new Editor, Tiaan Nagel
Tiaan’s extensive understanding of contemporary design is informed by his background in fashion design. Having studied fashion at the prestigious London International School of Fashion he shortly moved on to become the Creative Director at Marion and Lindie.
For the last five years he has been working in the dynamic and testing environment of print media today. He started out as a freelance contributor to Elle Décor then started consulting for Times Media on their home/interior suite, conceptualizing the look and feel and the editorial direction with the editor. Since then, he has developed their fashion suite and has extended this platform from newspaper into magazines.
Harnessing his acute understanding of well designed products and contemporary design, he has worked on beautiful products in retail and in print.
“My extensive travels around the globe made me realize the importance of our local offering in relation to international design. I am interested and inspired by a more inclusive and reflective offering that explores an authentic local vernacular.” ~ Tiaan Nagel
The media landscape over the last 5-7 years has changed so dramatically with the rise of social media and the development of online platforms that print media has a responsibility to offer original content that is reflective of its time and surroundings.
Associated Media Publishing is happy to announce that Tiaan has finally found his home with one of SA’s top magazines – House and Leisure, and we have no doubt that he will take the brand further.
