ASSOCIATED MEDIA PUBLISHING APPOINTS JACKIE MAY AS EDITOR OF MARIE CLAIRE
Associated Media Publishing is delighted that Jackie May has joined the Marie Claire team.
‘We have no doubt that Jackie will successfully take the brand further,’ says Julia Raphaely, CEO of Associated Media Publishing. ‘With her strong editorial background, we know that she will take Marie Claire into the next phase of publishing, using all our platforms.’
Jackie joins from daily newspaper The Times, where she most recently edited the Cape Town edition. Before that, she worked across multiple media gaining considerable experience for today’s media challenges.
‘I am delighted to be joining Marie Claire,’ Jackie says. ‘It is a great privilege to be editing a strong international fashion brand with an exciting and vibrant future. I will be investing in smart, quality content that serves my intelligent reader best and that will reach her via all the brand’s platforms. As Marie Claire’s editor, it’s my ambition to deepen the relationship between the magazine, the various platforms and our readers.’
Jackie’s professional loves are ‘getting the story’, amusing readers and producing content beautifully.
In a world where there is an abundance of free content, Jackie believes quality content that the reader can trust and that is an enriching experience has never been more important. She also understands that the reader needs to be entertained: playful, irreverent content sells better, informs more and has greater impact than content that isn’t.
Jackie succeeds Aspasia Karras, who edited Marie Claire for six years. Her first edition will be the May 2016 issue of Marie Claire.
