ASSOCIATED MEDIA HITS MILLIONAIRE STATUS
On Friday, 13 November, Associated Media Publishing’s combined social media fans crossed the one million mark. The milestone is evidence of the independent media group’s successful move from print publisher to fully-fledged 360-degree content publisher.
Associated Media’s Group Marketing Manager Karla Levick says Cosmopolitan is ‘leading the charge’ with around 650 000 fans across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Marie Claire, House and Leisure, Good Housekeeping/Goeie Huishouding and WOW also boast strong and rapidly growing audiences across the platforms.
Levick says audiences now interact with magazine brands on multiple platforms across the content ‘ecosystem’. “We offer our audiences 360-degree opportunities to interact with us, including on our digital websites, at events, in our print publications and across social media. As the key ‘connectors’, our social media platforms are a vital cog in our content mix. They allow our audiences to engage with us, voice their opinion, interact with our content and start conversations.”
She says the social media teams strive to deliver content that adds value on both a practical and inspirational level. “Our strategy is simple. We know our audiences deeply – Associated Media has been a trusted source of information for South African women for more than 30 years – so we are sticking to what we know but extending this to the social media space. And it is clear from the 76% increase in audiences over the past year that the strategy is resonating deeply with our audiences.”
